Developer Partners With Influencers to Livestream “Demolition Experience”

A Clearwater-based developer has announced a new partnership with a small, hand-selected group of content creators from Los Angeles to livestream what they are calling a “demolition experience” ahead of an upcoming luxury project in downtown St. Pete.

As part of the rollout, the influencers who arrived in the city late last week have already begun filming content outside the building, with several seen recording short-form video and asking passing pedestrians what it’s like to live in Tampa.

Developers say their goal is to make demolition “sexy again” by allowing audiences to experience it through the eyes of young and attractive content creators.

The initiative is also intended to ensure that viewers can follow along in real time from anywhere, even if they’re unable to attend the demolition in person.
“We know you have to work,” one influencer said. “But we don’t, so now you can watch us while you’re at work. It’s great.”

Participants will be streaming simultaneously across TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube, with integrated monetization features enabled during the event, including Super Chats and paid viewer prompts tied to specific moments in the demolition process, with select viewer interactions expected to influence pacing.

Organizers noted that $1,000 Super Chats will be allowed to pick which part of the building gets demolished next.

While developers declined to comment on compensation, several creators referenced travel accommodations, coordinated messaging guidelines, and a thorough onboarding process in downtown Clearwater prior to arriving on site.

One influencer, a 23-year-old content creator from Chatsworth, said she had arrived in St. Petersburg less than 48 hours earlier and described the opportunity as “baller.”

“I’ve never actually been here before,” she said, pausing briefly to check her phone. “But I’m really excited to, like, be part of this and just smash something. This is fire.”

Developers confirmed that none of the participating creators are local, citing a preference for what they described as “objective voices” who can present the project without “pre-existing bias.”

Nearby residents expressed optimism about the initiative, with one neighbor noting that the project has already generated significant online attention.

“I mean, have you seen how many likes it’s getting on TikTok?” she said. “That kind of exposure is huge for St. Pete. My cousin’s orthodontist in Phoenix just texted me about it yesterday. Can you believe that?”

Project leaders say the demolition experience is intended to set a new standard for how demolition is presented to the public, with similar activations already being explored for future sites across the city.

“If this performs the way we expect it to,” one developer said, “there’s no reason not to do this with every building.”
